For the Egg Lover or someone that appreciates a beautiful quirky item that is certainly a conversation piece. This striking egg boiler or steamer cooked eggs at the Victorian table using the heat from a spirit lamp. Lightly boiled eggs could be eaten at breakfast, or in the late afternoon, at high tea. This boiler is typical of late 19th-century examples, with complementary bird finial on the lid and very ornate stand. This is a rather nice example and has its original tray to accommodate egg cups and spoons. The tray is hallmarked A1 silver plate and it is in excellent condition.
